The Beauty of Slowing Down
I think somewhere along the way, beauty became exhausting.
Everywhere we look, we are being told we need more. More products. More steps. More treatments. More “fixing.” More…more…more. And honestly? I started to resent the insane amount of products in my closes. I felt like there had to be a simpler approach.
One of the biggest reasons I started Hendrix Botanical Co. was because I wanted to create something simple but effective. I wanted my facial routine to be slower and grounding instead of overwhelming and rushed.
I wanted skincare to feel less like pressure and more like ritual.
For me, beauty has started becoming less about perfection and more about how I feel. It’s the quiet moments at the end of the night when I wash my face and finally slow down for a second. It’s taking a few extra minutes to massage in a nourishing oil instead of rushing through another routine. It’s creating small moments that feel calming and intentional in the middle of a very loud world.
That is what Hendrix Botanical Co. is really about.
Not perfection.
Not impossible beauty standards.
Not chasing flawless skin.
Just nourishment.
Softness.
Natural beauty.
And learning to care for ourselves a little more gently.
I think women are constantly encouraged to fight themselves — fight aging, fight imperfections, fight every little change. But there is something really beautiful about learning to embrace yourself as you are while still caring for yourself intentionally.
That balance matters to me.
Every product I create is inspired by that philosophy. I want these rituals to feel comforting. Grounding. Luxurious in a quiet way. I want women to use these products and feel like they can finally exhale a little.
Because beauty should not feel stressful.
It should feel personal.
Natural.
Simple.
Like coming back to yourself again.
And honestly, I think there is something incredibly beautiful about slowing down enough to appreciate that.
